Beta Weekend: Do I need to download the client if...
Regarding the Beta Weekend, do I need to download the client from guildwars.com if I have the pre-order disc, or is the client already on the disc? Thanks in advance. -- S.B.

The client isn't on the disk per se, but there's a link to download it, which is the same link you get when you go to the Guild Wars website. So whichever way you want, there is something very official about clicking the link on the pre-order.

If you bought the pre-order and got the box with the disk, mini-hint book and poster then You should only have to install the disk and type in Key. I bought my Box from Best Buy and did not download client. And I have been in to BWE no problem

They give you the box which has the Beta Weekend Key, a Friends Pass, a poster, a CD with some goodies on it (with the client download link), and a Tournament strategy guide book.
PS: Curse you Darkmane for posting right before I did. This is the second time in a row where somebody has just beaten me to the punch |

Doesn't really matter one way or the other I suppose, but for the record, my pre-order CD included the client on it, not a link to go download it from. Including a link instead of the client itself must be something new (I bought my pre-order package during the week between the WPE and BWE1, and a friend of mine who bought his pre-order package a month later also received the client on disk, no download required).
